Ponleu Sokhapheap (PSP) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2003. PSP’s mission is to provide information and capacity development opportunities related to good medical practice to health professionals in order to enhance health service quality. PSP is currently seeking a qualified and motivated Cambodian national to fulfill the following position based in Phnom Penh.

Finance Officer

Responsibilities

  • Provides effective oversight to ensure compliance with systems and procedures for cash management, procurement, office financial management, documenting and accounting for cost share, and financial reporting;
  • Assist the Finance/Admin Manager in managing all financial and accounting works;
  • Ensure that all expenses are properly incurred and appropriate supporting documentation attached;
  • Follow up with cashier on advances are settled on time as state in the financial policy;
  • Ensure that all expenses incurred are in accordance with approved budgets, allocated to the approved budget, and correct budget line and with the responding project;
  • Ensure compliance with donors and PSP financial policy and procedure and reporting requirements;
  • Reconcile income, expenditure and fund balance for all account according to individual donor on a monthly basis and make adjusting entry for any mistakes for error made;
  • Prepare the staff monthly payroll; random check every month on the general ledger of each account and prepares adjusting journal entry for any corrections;
  • Performs other tasks as requested by Finance/Admin Manager and Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent qualification;
  • At least three years of work experience in finance and preferably working for NGO;
  • Very good in oral and written English and Khmer languages;
  • Computer proficiency, particular in Peachtree, spreadsheet, e-mail and internet;
  • Ability to work independently and multi-disciplinary team and maintain good relationship with colleagues;
  • Ability to motivate, ethical, flexible, open;
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English and Khmer.
