Field Researchers for Baseline Survey on Rural Water Supply Services
SNV is a Netherlands based International Development Organisation that delivers capacity development services to over 2000 clients across 33 countries around the world. In Asia, SNV helps to strengthen the capacity of government, non-governmental organisations and private sector in Nepal, Bhutan, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Bangladesh and started working in Cambodia, since 2005 in the field of tourism and Biogas in some provinces of the country.
Since September 2009, SNV has been implementing a programme on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sub-sector with the aim to improve the well-being of the rural population through raising awareness and capacity building project in two provinces, Kampot and Kratie, where the water supply and sanitation coverage is lower than other provinces of the country.
So far main attention in the WASH sector has been given to the Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All programmes and this is currently in process of gradual scaling up. Less attention has been given to the programme of Functionality of Rural Water Supply Services. So the SNV intends to work towards improving the Rural Water Supply Services. Therefore, SNV is currently seeking for a field researcher to assist an expert to supervise the field survey during the implementation of baseline survey in the target areas.
The objective of the assignment is to assist an expert and SNV advisor for supervising the field work during the implementation of baseline survey.
Within the above described objective, methodology and duration of the assignment below, the consultants are expected to provide the following deliverables:
· Brief inception report at maximum 2 pages describes methodology, action plan and activities how to supervise the field survey;
· Involvement of finalization of a set of questionnaires with consultant team;
· Participation and facilitation in the training on how to use the questionnaires;
· Managing and supervising the day-to-day activities of the field data collectors;
· Summary field report on field survey while completion of baseline survey.
The assignment requires resource persons to implement as given below:
- Field researchers should consist of two persons, one for each province to supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of field survey team in the province.
Interested and qualified candidates are invited to apply. This assignment requires professional background, knowledge and experiences as given below:
• Bachelor degree or higher in social science, rural development and other relevant field;
• Knowledge and skills for conducting baseline survey
• Good language skills, written and spoken are required in English and Khmer;
• More than 3 years professional experience in Rural Water Supply Services;
• Good communication and analytical skills;
• Ability to go to provinces and manage the data collection.
